Dragon flies

I heard the big wigs talking about a new item they were looking into today.  Apparently they have learned how to make paracord knots look like a dragon fly.  I was a little nervous about having dragons in the area, but it turns out dragon flies are actually just flying bugs that gobble up mosquitos.  That is not scary at all!  So they set out to see if they were worth producing.

Turns out that a pink dragon fly is the symbol for a cancer survivor.  I am just learning all kinds of neat stuff here.  The Studio has made the first one for a dear friend of the boss, and three more for market.  They are not listed yet but there here is a sneak peak.  If you have any survivor friends this would be an awesome reminder of their inner strength and courage!

Oh oh oh!! I almost forgot!! I have new hair.  My biggest fan, and a person so famous they named a huge statue after her in Chicago's Millennium Park, got me two new sets of hair. One is an adorable pink bob, and the other is neon green!!  I am so gonna rock those!  I can't wait until the next shoot.

I had an interesting experience today, I got to see my boss turn four different shades of green,  I don't know how she did it, but it was amazing.  Seems Gabi the Studio mascot kitty decided that she did not want her breakfast anymore... about three hours after eating it.  So not only did it come up, but apparently Gabi is skilled at up chucking on the run.... as she ran under the bosses desk and across her feet.  First time I ever heard a cat and a human dry heaving at the same time.
(don't tell the boss I told you she did not enjoy that.)

That is it for tonight!  Thanks for stopping in. Q

home coming

The boss comes home today. I guess that means no more goofing off for me.  Just as well I guess.   I am down a ton of money from playing cribbage with pinky.

Who would ever guess that zombies are master card players?  Pinky says pretty much all zombies do is play cards, especially when they are on the movie sets between scenes.  That is another zombie fact I did not realize.  Zombies can only get jobs as, well, zombies in movies.  She says she hates the stereo types  (most zombies are actually vegetarians), but it is a good living.  Who knew.  All I know is that little runt can play cards!

We had another big storm here today.  I was not scared this time, but it was really windy.  I kept hearing: "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!"  I wonder what that was all about.

It is Monday!  You all know what that means!  Time for the "TDS Tidbit" so, here it is:

When the boss is away, the Quinnie may play, but it won't be with pinky for money anymore!

Goodnight everybody!!

New pinky pics

Rob groused at me for the pinky pic that was, well... anything but pink.  So here is the series that does her justice.

Zombie Bling

Rob do you mind if Pinky puts them up on her My space?  It is not like anybody will see them there anyway.  Q

Pinky

I met Pinky today.  She is StudioCalvin's very first zombie-series doll.    I was not scared of her even a little bit.    She has pretty pink eyes and hair and even pink stitches.  Poor thing, but don't worry I asked her and she said they don't hurt a bit.  She even has a bit of bling.

Pinky says to say sorry for the quality of the picture, she took it with her phone for her my-space page.  ( I didn't know anybody still used My Space, but I didn't want to hurt her feelings)

Rob promises to take better pics tomorrow.   Maybe he will let me pose with her.  You know I always make every picture better.

You will find her on ETSY once she has a couple siblings to keep her company.   We don't want her getting lonely now do we?

Good night everybody!!

We have zombies!

OK, now that just scared me out of three years of my life.  The Boss' secret project is collectable zombie dolls.  They are kinda creepy if you ask me.  Especially when Rob thinks it would be a good idea for it to jump out in front of me when I was not even looking!  I think the only one who liked it less was the cat, Gabi.  Her eyes got as big as pie plates,  she jumped about 2 feet straight up and ran about 6 feet. She then stopped gave her shoulder an aggressive lick, gave Rob a dirty look and sauntered off.  Now that was funny.  Here is a picture of the doll.

Rob now apparently thinks he is all that and a bag of wasabi peas,  because he has a new duty in the shop... making polymer clay hearts for the dolls.  Each one different from the others.  I suppose it will make each zombie even more unique.

I hope you all had a great 4th!  I took the day off  so here is your "TDS Tidbit"  a day late ( I know you have been waiting!)

There are few things in life funnier than making a cat jump straight up in the air.

Thanks for dropping by come back soon!

My new look!

Today we added a new product to StudioCalvin that required... Well a unique look for me.    I never saw myself as a survivalist or even Steampunk. I have to admit, I make this look magnificent!

Before I get more into this look here is the link for the new product.
Click here to see our new product
There.  Sorry for the commercial, but it is part of my contract.
OK, so back to my shoot,
To the left I am sporting my awsome pink hair and a vintage WWII protective mask.  (don't tell Amanda, but it smells like feet)
Now in this picture you can see the custom sling.  The clothes I am wearing are Old Navy. Oh Snap! Dominick You wish you could make these look this good!
Here I am rocking out with my favorite  hair.  One of my best fans has promised me some awsome new hair, so this may not be my favorite for long.
To the right is what I like to call my casual zombie hunter look. It is just the thing on a hot summer day when the zombie infestation is minimal.
This one just makes me smile, and talk like Darth Vader... [breathing sounds] where are photographers from Vogue?... [breathing sounds]
This one is my total camo look, no hair so I can really blend in.  I am apocalypse ready baby!
This is me, looking at you... saying.... Thanks for stopping in!
see ya next time!

no power

The power just went out. At first I was so scared I could not move. Then I just stood there a while and listened to a completely silent house. That was even creepier. I tried to whistle just to make a little noise. But no luck. My mouth was bone dry. Rob came down to check the sump pump what ever that is, and calmed me down. So now I stand here in the dark I guess this is better than trying to swim. I wonder if power is out at the old navy. Dominick is probably needing to change into unsoiled board shorts. He is such a whimp. ok everybody. Time to get some rest! Good night. Q

what a day!

Today was... well lets just say it was interesting.   It was pretty hot out today, so the boss decided we should take half the day off and go swimming.  I have never been swimming before.  I know that seems odd, but where I come from there simply are not a lot of swimming pools.  Anyway, I figured why not.  The pool is not too deep, and I could just get in splash a bit and cool off.

I was gonna save this for Mondays TDS Tidbit, but I will share it now.  Apparently we mannequins do NOT float.  Well, not for very long anyway.  I had bubbles coming out of everyplace!  Talk about your water weight gain!!  So, I figured I would just get out and work on my tan.   I was draining for 15 minutes.... heck I didn't drain that much after two days by the water cooler.

The tanning attempt was pretty much unsuccessful too.  I was laying out for three hours and I don't think I am even a shade darker.

After that I started my own Facebook page.  Now that was a fun time.  So many wonderful people out there.  I am hoping Fons and Porter accept my friend request!!

To all my wonderful blog followers, and all my new Facebook friends, I wish you a very good night!

So much for the water cooler

Hi everybody,  thanks to all of you who are following me now.  It is very exciting.

Well, I am back in the basement now waiting for my next textile display session.  Not that one is in the near future.... sigh.... apparently I scared the bejeebers out of the boss yesterday.  I don't know how.  Amanda knew I was there. Heck I had been there since the day before.  She walked in to the kitchen, and let out a yelp that actually made me jump.  Next thing I know I am back downstairs, but it is ok  it gives me more time to tell everybody about my day.

Dominick, my Old Navy TDS friend has stopped talking to me.  He says I am getting to snooty what with having my own blog following.  No big loss.  To be honest I think he secretly wants to work at Victoria's Secret. [burn]  Besides, I would rather meet a nice Buckle or American Eagle TDS...

That is all for now.  I need to practice my pose.  You never know when the next display session will be.

Q

P.S. Fons and Porter I'm still waiting to hear from you... I can help hold quilts on your show... I would be awesome!

Rule 32, enjoy the little things

Christeen worked late last night and didn't even say hi to me when she came home and I was standing right by the water cooler.  How rude.  So this morning, she came downstairs to eat breakfast before class and  I just smiled at her.  She liked to jump right out of her skin.  It made me giggle.  Rule 32 enjoy the little things.

I really do love my job

What an amazing day!  So, I was hanging around the water cooler and I had literally been there for hours just standing around shooting the breeze with anybody who passed by.  When all of the sudden the Boss comes down.  I thought I was canned for sure!  Did she fire me? NO!
In fact she noticed that my sandal had come undone and she fixed it for me.

Did you notice?  They are letting me wear the StudioCalvin Bracelet. It is awesome!

You can get the bracelet here.

Hee Hee now I can tell my boss I did SOME work today.

What a great place! I got to hang out at the water cooler ALL DAY!  Nobody even cared.  This is my kind of job  I think I will make Mondays my TDS Tidbit day.   At the end of every Monday after a day of water cooler introspection, I will share a morsel of Textile Display Specialist wisdom with you.

I will say goodnight with this TDS Tidbit :   The leading cause of death among fashion models is falling through street grates.

TGIF

Good morning world. Happy Friday. I am finishing my first week at my new studio job and I think I am really getting settled in. I have my own little spot, and I got my first pay check ever. It was not a lot, but hey I am just starting out. I can't expect to make CEO until I've been here a while right? Just kidding Amanda. She is my boss. She seems really nice so far. Oh back to my first pay! I got hair! Here is a pic, it is not a good one. The studio photog promised he would get good shots of me at the next textile expose. But here is one I took with my phone for now. What do you think? I make pink look good right?
