It is Monday!

Well, what started out as a great weekend only got better!  The Armalite pitch went swimmingly (sorry Rob.)  The ripped pool cover is on order and the cameras will be replaced soon.  Rob seems to have come out of his funk a little, and I started talking to a great new guy working in the Agricultural Vermin Deterrent field.

His name is Edgar.  He looks pretty rough when he first gets off work, but when he changes out of his bib-overalls and tucks in his straw (be nice)  he looks pretty darn good!  He knows all the corn jokes... I had no idea there were that many.  He also knows the call and look of every bird in the area.  I could listen to him talk for hours!

It is Monday you know what that means!  YUP! the TDS Tidbit!
so here it is.... this time in poem form

He who stands too near the pool
risks sopping clothes and loss of tool
and falling can scare the boss
she could not care less of your tool loss

but through it all keep your chin high
for it's only things that you can buy
a broken thing you can replace...
but if you get hurt she'll smack your face.

OK actually she got scared and cried... but i couldn't get that to rhyme :)

There is another batch of Zombies that just moved in, but I don't think they will be staying long.  Rob took their pictures today to help find them a new home.  It was pretty sad watching him try to pose them and act all professional using a little tiny baby point and shoot.  Hee Hee.

Any way here they are, I call them (from left to right) Larry, Blue Girl (BG), Tic, and Flame, but you can call them anything you want. :)

More later!

Hey Everybody!

I know I know, I've been gone a while.  Sorry some times I just get so caught up in life that I forget to make time for the things I enjoy.

Looks like there won't be any new pictures for a while.  Rob tried to do some underwater photography and killed his cameras.  Well he wasn't really trying underwater shots... but he did find out that the pool cover is secretly a Nikon fan.

So we went to Armalite in Geneseo yesterday.  Looks like they are going to advertise our slings on their web pages, and take pictures of the sling on their custom rifles.   Looks like Rob is gonna be a knot tying dude.  Sweet.  Rob schmoozed hard but was unable to get them to give him a sample rifle.  I am pretty sure they saw the picture of me with the rifle slung, (Rob taught me that term) and that is what sold them.

They asked for a few simple modifications, so I got to spend the day surfing the web trying to find a supplier for the parts to make the production model sling.  I found them though,  so by this time next week, there will be a knot tying flurry.  Maybe I will even get into the groove and do some slinging!

I know you are all dying to know what is going on with Dominick.   Long story short... NOTHING!  I have sworn off that dummy (that means two things) and I have moved on.    I currently have my eye on a guy working as an agricultural vermin deterrent.  We will have to take it slowly though.  He is more of an outdoorsy type who likes to hang around in fields, but he has the most amazing stories about avian infestations.  I have no idea what that is, but he makes it sound awesome!!

Today I met a peanut!

Ohhhh Snap Dominick! You are so lucky he is married, or I would not even be talking to you right now.  I  got to meet Charles Tillman today.  What a dream.  I guess he is some kind of football player for Chicago.  I am not much of  sports fan, but he stood around and chatted with us for quite a while.  He even wound up wearing a StudioCalvin Bracelet.  How cool is that?  I never realized players spend a great deal of time thinking about what they will do in the event they score a touchdown.  Kinda fun getting an insight not many others get.

I must admit I felt kinda foolish, once I found out he was a celebrity I froze.  I seriously could not move. I don't even think I said a word I just stood there with a stupid grin on my face.  This was so much better than a water cooler.

We added collars and wallets to our catalog to day on ETSY, come see!!
new wallet
new large breed collar  Don't worry sheena, that one is still yours. :)
medium breed collar
Other wallet
Kitty collar

OK time for me to rest! see ya soon!!

Saturday on the town.

Hey everybody.  I got a rare treat tonight.  The boss let me go with them to see a movie in 3-D.  I of course  made the glasses look AWESOME!

The movie was called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part II.  I was not sure I was going to like it, because I had not seen part one, and come to find out there were six other parts before that. That is a lot of parts.   I know,  I know, before you say a word everybody here already asked me how it was possible that I had not heard of these movies before.   Let me just say where I come from there are even fewer movie theaters than there are pools ok?

Anyway the movie was really good.  I won't give you any details cause I don't want to spoil it, suffice it to say I was riveted,  completely unable to move through the entire movie.    There was stuff blowing up and there was  this one ugly guy with slits for a nose.  Come to think of it he reminded me of Dominick.   They are both butt heads.    A lot of stuff happens and then the lights came on and we left. (hows that for not giving anything away)

On the way out we had to give the glasses back so I can't show you a picture of how well I made them look, but trust me I did.

Thanks boss for getting me out of the house.  I had a great time.   Oh I almost forgot we went in Rob's car and I got to stand out of the sun roof the whole way.  That was fun too.   People were waiving and pointing.  I really am becoming quite the celebrity.  The only part that was not fun was when I got to taste a June bug at 40 miles and hour... plech!

OK that is it for now.  Goodnight all, thanks for stopping in.  Q

Dragon flies

I heard the big wigs talking about a new item they were looking into today.  Apparently they have learned how to make paracord knots look like a dragon fly.  I was a little nervous about having dragons in the area, but it turns out dragon flies are actually just flying bugs that gobble up mosquitos.  That is not scary at all!  So they set out to see if they were worth producing.

Turns out that a pink dragon fly is the symbol for a cancer survivor.  I am just learning all kinds of neat stuff here.  The Studio has made the first one for a dear friend of the boss, and three more for market.  They are not listed yet but there here is a sneak peak.  If you have any survivor friends this would be an awesome reminder of their inner strength and courage!

Oh oh oh!! I almost forgot!! I have new hair.  My biggest fan, and a person so famous they named a huge statue after her in Chicago's Millennium Park, got me two new sets of hair. One is an adorable pink bob, and the other is neon green!!  I am so gonna rock those!  I can't wait until the next shoot.

I had an interesting experience today, I got to see my boss turn four different shades of green,  I don't know how she did it, but it was amazing.  Seems Gabi the Studio mascot kitty decided that she did not want her breakfast anymore... about three hours after eating it.  So not only did it come up, but apparently Gabi is skilled at up chucking on the run.... as she ran under the bosses desk and across her feet.  First time I ever heard a cat and a human dry heaving at the same time.
(don't tell the boss I told you she did not enjoy that.)

That is it for tonight!  Thanks for stopping in. Q
